Rashondra Angelle Returns to LA’s Underground with New Music: “Bamboo”
by : Sharreace E. Baldwin“Bamboo” performed by Rashondra Angelle is a soulful house music anthem that declares resilience.
Nearly 10 years after releasing her debut indie soul album, “The After Glow,” the Los Angeles singer-songwriter and poet is back with a strong hold on a new dance single, “Bamboo.” The uplifting, soulful house music anthem produced by Beats Rhymes Soul Production aka S.O.U.L.-O, is feel-good, dance music that feeds the soul.
Penned and co-produced by writer and SolShock founder, Sharreace, “Bamboo” tells a story of strength and determination carried by Rashondra’s plush lead vocals and beautiful harmonies. Three minutes of emotional lyrics, an optimistic vibe, topped with airy flute and jazzy sax by Long Beach musician, Brandon Baker, makes “Bamboo,” an undeniable groove.
“Bamboo” is available now on Spotify and Apple Music.
This marks the first collaboration for the independent artists whose journeys date back to 2008. Connected through the close-knit underground music scene in Long Beach and L.A., Rashondra, Sharreace, and S.O.U.L.-O. were destined to blend their talents and create art.
No stranger to the artistic bond that ties them, Rashondra Angelle and S.O.U.L.-O have worked together consistently throughout their careers, independently releasing music like the seductive, “Temptation.”
Collectively, with “Bamboo,” featuring the lead vocals of Rashondra Angelle, the team aims to top DJ and streaming playlists and perform live throughout 2024.

“Bamboo” Lyrics:
Feels like a million life times
That I’ve been struggling to break the chains
Don’t know which one is harder to bear
My broken heart or these growing pains
And I’ll never be the same
But I know I will be greater
Hope it’s sooner than later (sooner than later)
Soon
Unshaken
Bendin’ but not breakin’
Show me what to do
To stand tall and
Strong as bamboo
Unshaken (Ha, ha, ha ha, yeah)
Bendin’ but not breakin’ (Oh)
Show me what to do
To stand tall and
Strong as bamboo
Wanna be like bamboo
Feels like a million life times
That I’ve been struggling to make a change
Don’t know which one is harder to bear
My broken heart or these growing pains
And I’ll never be the same
But I won’t give up, won’t give up, yeah
It’s got to get better
It’s got to get better
Get better
Unshaken
Bendin’ but not breakin’
Show me what to do
To stand tall and
Strong as bamboo
Unshaken (Ha, ha, ha ha, yeah)
Bendin’ but not breakin’ (Oh)
Show me what to do
To stand tall and
Strong as bamboo
Wanna be like bamboo
