Andy Street Community Association 11th Annual Black History Month event celebrating Mayor Rex Richardson

Andy Street Community Association (ASCA) presents their 11th Annual Black History Month event in Long Beach on Friday, February 10, 2023 celebrating African American achievements, legacy, youth education, CEOs demonstrating diversity excellence, and the city’s first-ever African American mayor, Mayor Rex Richardson.

It is indeed historic. Residents of the city of Long Beach, CA elected its first Black mayor since the city was incorporated over 125 years ago. ASCA will recognize Mayor Richardson along with the achievements of Long Beach City College (LBCC), The Boeing Company, and other special guests. A SolShock Media press release details the program of the event.

“It has been a pleasure to work with LaVerne Duncan, Executive Director of Andy Street Community Association, on this important event. I’m inspired by her longstanding city involvement and community leadership.”
