He is the definition of self-knowledge, self-respect, self-love and self-determination although he lived his life as selfless as they come. He shared his soul with us – through his moves, his marathon and his music. He maximized the power of his thoughts and actions and manifested the truths in his heart. The love and light that he set in motion has now propelled us forward to accept the baton and keep striving for positive change.  

As of April 2019, there are streets named after him, there are murals on walls, there are tattoos of his face and imprint, there is “Nipsey Blue,” there are hairstyles, paintings, portraits, marches, vigils, movements – and most of all, memories, from the people that he touched, which is in the millions around the globe, of all ages, all races, and from all walks of life.

He is one of the greatest men this world has ever known, and all of these honors, are rightly deserved and as they should be.

He is one of the greatest men because:

• He was a man of his word who knew his purpose and emanated fearlessness and pride.
• He educated himself by leveraging the tools around him, whether books or people, and applied the knowledge he learned.
• He shared his wealth with his family and community, and taught the world new definitions of loyalty, royalty and hood.
• He turned negatives into positives and modeled transformation, evolution and ascension right before our eyes.
• He put messages in his timeless music with some of the most motivating and memorable lyrics of all time.
• He awed Hip Hop and impacted the culture.
• He was hopeful, gave the world hope, and planted seeds of hope in children – not just his own.
• He elevated our thinking and our goals.
• He showed us the value of self-rule, entrepreneurship and investments in our own backyards.
• He showed us the meaning of virtue, strength, patience and faith.
• He inspired.

May his radiance shine the light on our greatest selves so that we can all walk through life in our individual greatness and collectively change the world.

May we all be forever and positively changed by the legendary life of Ermias Joseph Asghedom, aka, the late, great, Nipsey Hussle.
