Posted on: 2016/06/12, by : Sharreace E. BaldwinOn the heels of her recent live R&B/Neo-Soul concerts featuring Sy Smith, Eric Roberson, Rahsaan Patterson and Dwele, Betty Bennish kicked off the summer season with two of Atlanta’s hottest singer-songwriters: the inimitable Anthony David and Algebra Blessett. Backed by The Unit, the “4Evermore” singers graced the stage at the Huntington Beach Library Theatre as part of the popular BB Jazz concert series. Betty, the founder of BB Jazz, warmly welcomed the packed crowd of music-lovers and loyal fans just before the songbird that is Algebra, glided on stage. She was met with immediate applause as she began the first of many melodic treasures she would sing that night.
Couples filled the theater and romance was in the air; a perfect fit for the charming artist. Not to mention, the debut of her new hand-made, scented massage candle line entitled, “LOVENOTES by Algebra B..”
Like only he can, headliner Anthony David commanded the stage with his soulful voice. He had everyone on their feet as he opened with “Can’t Look Down” with the live band. He followed with several tunes before breaking into an acoustic set – reminding us all of how we came to love the man and his guitar. After wooing the crowd with hits from past and present, the talented crooner brought us to the future of AD music with “Beautiful Problem” from his forthcoming album “The Powerful Now.” “Beautiful Problem” was a beautiful song and an instant hit with Anthony David fans in the room.

Anthony David and Algebra Blessett playfully closed the show with their hit “4Evermore” leaving the crowd with an uptempo beat to groove home to. As the house lights came up, the producer and hostess for the evening ended the concert with a few announcements. Being the devoted soul music fan that she is, Betty went on to share her excitement for the upcoming L.A. Soul Music Festival happening July 22-23 at The Autry in Griffith Park. “I don’t know who’s putting it on, but I”ll be there!”
