“Edge”- an intriguing new work inspired by the words of American poet and writer Sylvia Plath, explores the complexities of emotional connection featuring the all-male dance troupe of Pony Box Dance Theatre and guest female LA Ballet soloist, Sadie Black as Sylvia. In this work, the female character searches for connection with 5 different men, with varying degrees of success. She is alone, whether physically or emotionally, even in the company of many, unable to overcome her isolation and lack of freedom.

In “The Collective”, the four men of the Pony Box Dance Theatre explore the tension between individual and collective desire.

“The moon has nothing to be sad about,

Staring from her hood of bone.

She is used to this sort of thing.

Her blacks crackle and drags.”

Sylvia Plath (1932-1963)
